Ex Libris on rear paste down ‘Menlough [Castle]. Gift inscription on top of title page. Some burn damage to top first few pages, incl. Map and Title Page, not affecting images or readability. [*8, +8, A8-O8, P10, Q8-Kk6, 16]. Fine red morocco with elaborate gilt decorations on both boards and spine. Crest of Cardinal Prospero Collona (1662 – 1743) on front and rear board, topped by tasseled cardinal’s hat. Six raised bands. All edges gilt (with added red decorations). Dentelles. Green and gold decorated end papers. A unique binding – please review images. Very good condition. Binding rubbed and bumped with small material losses to spine ends and corners.

Map and title page are included as facsimiles (losely inserted A4 Prints). Binding rubbed and bumped. Edges age darkened. Binding tender with front hinge cracked. Front free end paper and first blank coming lose, but still attached. Names of previous owners inscribed on Introduction page. Name of Author also inscribed on Introduction Page. Small libary stamp (see image). Internally a little dust dulled, but otherwise clean. A very good reading / research copy of this scarce item.
