Despite the wear; still an impressive book with wonderful illustrations.

Contemporary half leather over marbled boards. Red speckled edges. Black spine labels with gilt titles and volume numbers. Raised bands. Very good condition. Some shelf wear, rubbing and bumping. Edges and end papers dust dulled. Small stamp (‘Canon McNamara Bequest 1956’) and a number in ink on all four front paste downs and on one page in each volume (see image). Internally very clean. A very nice complete set.
