The New Decameron was a collection of interlinked stories selected and edited by Blackwell publishers of Oxford and published in the early 20th century. The stories centred around a re-interpretation of Bocaccio’s Decameron. The action is relocated to contemporary Europe, following the adventures of the party of men and women travelling under the guidance of Mr. Henry Turpin of “Turpin’s Tempermental Tours”. The first four volumes were published between 1919 and 1925 and tell the tale of the first four days of the tour. They include stories by D.H. Lawrence, J.D. Beresford, Vita Sackville West, Compton Mackenzie, Storm Jameson, Norman Davey and Basil Blackwell.
