Conditions of Sale
All items are subject to prior sale. A Pro Forma Invoice accompanies all shipments. Customers may use Cards (Visa or Mastercard), PayPal or bank transfer.
Fellow bookdealers receive a 10% discount. Other discounts subject to negotiations.
Returns & Refunds
At ‘West Coast Rare Books’ we strive to describe and show all of our items in the best possible and most realistic way. Please read the catalogue entries and study the images carefully before ordering.
We will refund any item if our description was found to be incorrect, incomplete or in any way misleading. In this case, please notify us as soon as possible, but no later than one month after delivery.
Refunds are limited to the original purchasing price, including initial delivery cost.
In the event of a refund, where possible the value of the book at time of purchase will be refunded to the same credit or debit card account used to make the initial payment.
The item must be returned to ‘West Coast Rare Books’ in the exact state that they were initially delivered.
Upon receipt of the returned item, ‘West Coast Rare Books’ will immediately make arrangements to process the refund. This should take between three and five working days to clear.
Shipping Information
We love to see you visiting our shop; however, we understand that not everyone can come and visit us in Westport. Should you find something of interest on our web site we will be delighted to ship it to you wherever you call home.
We suggest using An Post (Irish Postal Services) Registered Post for all your purchases. An Post provides a reliable and secure postal delivery at very reasonable rates. Shipping cost for common shipment weights and sizes can be seen in the table below.

On customer demand or for high value and/or urgent shipments we can use a courier service at cost. Please contact us for a quote.
Customers who have their own account with a courier service / shipping company can arrange to have their purchases picked up at our shop during normal working hours. For more information on location and working hours, please click here.
All shipments are expertly packed and insured as shown above. If you would like additional insurance cover, please contact us for a quote.
Delivery
We will deliver the books ordered to the delivery address which you supply. All delivery times quoted are estimates only, based on availability, normal processing, and delivery time.
Payment Options
During checkout, you can choose from the following payment options:
- Bank Transfer – An invoice with our account details will be shipped to you together with your purchase. Please pay within 14 days.
- Credit and Debit Card – Your card will not be charged until the book availability has been confirmed and the book is ready for shipment.
- PayPal – You are redirected to the Paypal Web Site.
- Pickup at our Shop – If you have the chance to come to Westport soon, we’re happy to prepare your books for pickup – of course without any shipping cost.
